Christmas Tour to Iceland
Arrival to the Keflvik airport and private transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik. Free leisure time in the afternoon to explore the vibrant Icelandic capital Reykjavik, known for creativeness and innovation within architecture and art. At night enjoy a tour to the Northern countryside far from the city lights to observe the beautiful Aurora Borealis, which is specifically visible on Iceland. Return to the hotel.
Day 2. December 23. Reykjavik - City Tour (Breakfast)Today we start the day off with an interesting walking city tour of Reykjavic with a local guide. In the evening you have the chance to join a local Christmas tradition called Porlįksmessa (St. Žorlįkurs Mass). This night the whole city gathers in the city center to enjoy a festive atmosphere.
Day 3. December 24. Reykjavik (Breakfast)A free day at leisure with time for late souvenir Christmas shopping, maybe a visit to the city museum to learn about the culture and history of Reykjavik. At night there are several gourmet restaurants open where you can enjoy a tasty Christmas dinner.
Day 4. December 25. Reykjavik - Golden Circle - Reykjavik (Breakfast)After breakfast, pick up for an excursion to the Golden circle, which is a tourist track that starts from Reykjavik and ventures to Žingvellir National Park. This park is a Unesco Heritage site as well as the home of the longest running parliament in the world. We continue to Geysir, and Gullfoss, which is Icelands most famous waterfall which falls 105ft into a steep canyon.
Day 5. December 26. Reykjavik - Whale Watching (Breakfast)Today we embark from the port in Reykjavik to go winter whale watching. Here we have the chance to see white-beaked dolphins, harbor porpoises, humpback whales and killer whales. Due to the unsteady weather during the winter the whale watching boat sometimes departs from other harbors in the area, but whale watching in the winter is a quite different experience that allows for the observation of different species.
Day 6. December 27. Reykjavik - Blue Lagoon - Keflavik (Breakfast)After breakfast transfer to the Blue Lagoon, a huge geothermal pool fed by mineral-rich heated seawater from the nearby geothermal plant. After a relaxing couple of hours in the warm water transfer to Keflavik airport for your flight back home.
